We offer British Canoeing Canoe Leader Training and Assessment in a number of ways.
Training
Following BCAB announcing the launch of the Leadership qualification that will be available from 4th January 2021. WithDave recognise the direct entry to assessments and that no formal BCAB Leadership training is required. Now that candidates will be responsible for making decisions about what preparation they need prior to assessment. WithDave would still like to offer the provision of a training and consolidation opportunity. As a BCAB Leadership Provider, we are well placed to offer the third party to check for readiness for assessment suggested by BCAB.
Under the Leadership qualification, Canoe Leadership is to be split into Open Water and White Water. We will be offering training and consolidation in the leadership skills, the personal paddling skills, and rescue skill to meet the assessment criteria of the NEW awards in their specific environments.
Participants will have the opportunity to be assessed in the environment for the elements of the Progressive Canoe Award.
Combined Inland Open Water Safety and Rescue (IOWSR) with Open Water Canoe leader (OWCL)
Following the massive success of our combined PSR and PSi course we are going to expand this model to Inland Open Water Safety and Rescue (IOWSR) with Open Water Canoe leader (OWCL). This course will be held over four days, the first day will cover IOWSR, day 2 will be personal paddling coaching and consolidation of rescue skills. Days 3 and 4 ww will look at Open water leadership of a group of canoes.

National Association Delivery Centre Registration
In order to become an Instructor, Coach, Leader or Raft Guide, British Canoeing Awarding Body require candidates to register with their National Association Delivery Centre, ahead of training/assessment once you meet the prerequisites. This is completed through their membership portal.
