Cross Scotland open canoe challenge trip.
This is a pretty unique cross Scotland trip, it isn’t the classic crossing and will come with bragging rights. Starting at Poolewe and finishing 96 km and 5 to 6 days later in Dingwall. This will be a small group and the 5 to 6 days will consist of 10 or so hours a day paddling or portaging. This trip has potentially 16km of portage, including lining and polling up highland streams. With 325m of height gain you will need to carry or move your boat as well as all your own kit and food. This trip is very much a traditional style open canoe trip.
It goes without saying a good level of fitness will be required for this tough challenge. You will need to have experience of lightweight camping and happy paddling up to grade 3 rivers and in force 4 winds with experience in lining, tracking, poling, portaging, sailing. This expedition will be lead by John Clark. If you are still interested contact us.
