Growing your Business or Club after COVID
With Bill Norris
After a year of setbacks and inactivity there will be an opportunity to grow, to gain new customers or members, to run additional activities for people who are keen to get on the water and away from meetings on ZOOM!
Business Modelling describes how a business or club creates value, how it delivers value and how it captures value in order to deliver sustainable (profitable) growth.
Modelling allows the business or club to adjust some basic assumptions about how it is run, for example how it creates value and who it creates value for.
Just like aerospace engineers build models of aircraft, put them in wind tunnels to see if they fly and structural engineers build models of bridges to see if they stand. You can build a model of your business or club and determine how it will work. Who do you need to involve and what must they do? How will you reach your customers or members? and will they see value in what you are doing? How does the cost and revenue model work – are there alternative ways to raise revenue from your business or club activity?
Effective modelling will prevent you spending time, effort, and money on something that in hindsight, was never going to work. Instead, focus your energy on something that you have really thought through.
